Chicago Latinx Masthead Poster

$65.00

This 3-color oversized (24x36’’) screenprinted poster is designed and researched by Nicole Marroquin. The vast majority of these Chicago-based publications are out of print and unarchived. This poster helps us remember them, and spurs action: we must archive Latinx publications so this important history can be preserved.

This second edition of 240 prints features a rainbow gradient and several more publications than the first (sold out) edition of 100.

All proceeds from the sales of this print go toward funding future collaborations with Nicole Marroquin.

From the artist:
”I compiled a list of newspapers (neighborhood, community, school and community, daily, weekly, newsletters, and magazines ) that served or reported on Latinx communities of Chicago. This list includes bilingual, Spanish and English language publications,. Most of these newspapers were published between 1927-1985. I included dates only in cases where I saw only one newspaper, or saw a range of dates. Very few newspapers were archived, and most of what I found were from clippings.”
