Caleb Yono created this monotype at Hoofprint for “The Hunt of the Unicorn,” exhibition. In addition to drawing and painting directly only acrylic plates with water-soluble media, she inked up a number of wigs with oil-based ink. The acrylic plates and wigs were then sent through the press with a damp piece of cotton rag paper, transferring the pigment to the receiving sheet. As indicated by the term MONO-type, these prints are unique—there is only one. This print is part of a series of 6 images that make up the “Woman Becoming Unicorn” suite.
